Ice Sculptures – The "Coolest" Decoration for Your Wedding
We have all seen those crystal-clear, intricately carved ice statues at weddings and corporate events. Although they might shout “rich and famous,” they are a good deal more affordable than you might expect. For your next event, select an ice sculpting company that can translate your ideas into frozen works of art.
Decide when you need the ice sculpture. Whether a company can make your ice sculpture depends on the day and time that you need it. Some companies will take next-day orders while others will require you to order up to a month in advance.
Find out whether your banquet facility has a preferred vendor before you start your search. The venue might require that you hire its preferred ice carver instead of finding one on your own.
Choose a company that includes everything that you need to display your ice sculpture. This should include delivery and setup, a tray to hold it in, a hose for drainage, lights to show off the detail and perhaps some greenery or flowers for around the base of the sculpture.
Select an ice sculpting company that can create a unique statue or centerpiece for you. If you are going for a traditional shape such as a heart, wedding bells or a swan, then using an ice mold might be okay with you. However, there are plenty of skilled artists who sculpt custom designs. If you want something unique or personalized, find a company that can do that for you.
Step 5 Order through a company you can afford. You might have thousands of dollars to spend on an ice bar, or you might just want an ice punch bowl. Improved transportation methods have lowered the price on ice sculptures so that you can now get more for your money than in the past.
- Ice sculptures are not limited to weddings. You can also select sculpting for your anniversary party, birthday party or corporate holiday gathering.
- Most studios will provide you with a tour of their facilities before you sign a contract with them.
- Speak with the venue where you are having your ice displayed. They need to know what type of linens to provide and they will also need to set up a table that will hold the weight of the ice–often 200 pounds or more.
