Real Bride Blogger #7 — It’s Crunch Time!

It’s a little crazy how fast time is flying (umm, hello, it’s March already!), but Lynn’s June 7th wedding is getting down to the 3-month mark! We’re so excited to see the end result — and at this point, Lynn has most of the planning crossed off her checklist.

She and Jim, however, are finishing up a few game-time decisions. As mentioned in our last entry, they were oh-so-close to booking their florist — and as it turns out, they have! Creations by Lynn will be supplying the beautiful blooms for the big day.

They’ve also hired BVIP to shuttle their guests to and from the ceremony/reception. Linens have been lined up with the always lovely Sitting Pretty Linens; a bridal shower date has been set, and gift registries have been made.

Somehow, in between all that planning, Lynn, and Jim found a little time to unwind with an uber-adorable in-studio engagement shoot with Kristy Steeves Photography. Seriously, how cute is this shot!

So what are the happy duo working on at the moment? “I’m currently working on finding vases for the reception tables, getting invitations ready so come March they can be sent out, looking for a unity shadow sand box for ceremony and also looking for readings for ceremony,” Lynn says.

With all the seemingly wedding chaos surrounding them, it’s probable that she just might be stressing. “Stressing?!” Lynn exclaims. “That’s an understatement.” Lynn elaborates a little more on the issues she’s been dealing with during her recent wedding planning: For starters, their honeymoon flight keeps changing due to United Airlines pulling there hub from Cleveland. Then you can add in that when their invitations arrived, they were a different color than what was originally shown on the computer screen. Oh, and not only does Lynn have to worry about fitting into her own dress — but she also has two bridesmaids who are now pregnant & need to have dresses that fit, too.

“So with all the stressing out, I actually got sick and had the shingles,” Lynn explains. “No bride should ever stress herself out to the point that she gets sick. I have learned some things are just out of your control.”

And just how is Lynn finding time to relax these days? “I have had a lot of support from my family, Jim, and my friends on planning and decisions,” she says. “And when I’m not wedding planning I am hanging out with my friends and family, going out and doing fun activities. Jim and I do go out on dates and, while we are on the date, we try not to talk about anything dealing with the wedding.”

Interestingly enough, while many brides might shut down good ‘ole Pinterest due to inspiration overload, Lynn says gathering ideas there is a stress reliever for her.

Overall, she’s in a good place though. “I can’t believe it’s just months away!!!” she says. “I’m feeling really good about my planning and getting excited to see it all put together.”
