Seasonal Bridesmaid Color Palettes for your Big Day

Share:

While we may have all four seasons in one day in Northeast Ohio, wedding themes are not as temperamental. Whether your big day falls in October or June, each season has a particular color palette it matches best. Here’s a complete guide to selecting seasonal bridesmaid color palettes that will make your gals feel beautiful all day long.

If you’re planning a picturesque fall wedding, shades of orange, burgundy, and purple can bring out the natural beauty of the season, and of your bridesmaids. For early autumn weddings, mustard yellow paired with a navy blue is a great option to transition from summer to fall. Later in the season, you could opt for berry tones or a dusty rose, which will give you a more romantic look while still embracing the falling leaves. Neutrals such as shades of brown, taupe, and beige can add an elegant look to the whole affair—you could even go for gold if you’re feeling fancy!

But for many, fall revolves around one thing—Halloween! If you’re planning a Halloween-themed ball, but don’t want it to overpower the actual wedding, consider dusty purple tones, burnt oranges, or even blood reds. However, if you’re the bold type, a black scheme could be equally beautiful and haunting!

Winter

Many major holidays occur during winter and your wedding is one of them! Vibrant jewel shades such as sapphire and emerald bode well with the holiday season, as well as more traditional colors like scarlet. Your bridesmaids will love the universally flattering color scheme! A fun way to incorporate a little ‘Ohio’ into a winter wedding could be pairing scarlet with silver accents (grey, but make it fashion). These shades look beautiful up against Northeast Ohio’s snowy horizon while paying homage to the Buckeye state.

If you’re looking to add a little jazz to your late December/early January wedding, try going for a metallic theme—silvers, golds, and bronzes ought to help ring in the New Year and your big day! Faux fur has also shown to be a huge trend for winter weddings. Throwing a neutral faux fur over their shoulders will keep your bridal party in style, on theme, AND warm.

Springtime weddings call for all the pastels!  Pastels add a soft touch to the wedding and are often found within nature during the season itself. Whether your favorite color is green or purple, the pastel version is sure to make a lovely wedding color. However, blush has reigned as the supreme pastel over the past few years. Blush, paired with off-white, forest green or navy to off-set the femininity, acts as both a neutral and shade of pink, giving the wedding a simple, yet romantic vibe.

If pastels don’t float your boat or flatter your bridesmaids’ skin tones, try going for muted jewel tones. Shades such as mulberry, orchid, and mauve can enhance the spring-like feel of your wedding, while still pairing well with the softness of the season.

A summer wedding calls for a palette that is just as vibrant and exciting as the season itself! Bright yellow and deep blue, a traditional, yet gorgeous combination for the summertime, could give the wedding a lively, happy touch, while warmer tones of pink and lilac can add a romantic and feminine feel to the big day. Peach is another summery shade that is sure to look stunning in the summer sunshine and can be paired with a multitude of accents such as blue, light grey, or tan. The possibilities for your bridesmaids’ accessories are endless!

However, one of the biggest summer wedding trends in recent years has been off-white color palettes, enhanced with tons of greenery. Shades of light tan and cream combined with an array of greenery in the decor and floral arrangements give the wedding a minimalist, yet breathtaking look, and photograph beautifully. Set against a blue sky and green grass, this color palette is sure to make a statement.

Test out these color schemes and see which ones fit your style and feel you want for your big day. Any of these seasonal bridesmaid color palettes are sure to make a lovely wedding, no matter the time of year—that’s just the icing on the cake!
