Wedding Signage Part I – Engagement Photos
One colossal decor staple in weddings lately is signage. Using mirrors, windows, planks of wood, leather, or chalkboards, engaged couples can create an inexpensive yet classy way to display all the information they want their guests to know.
using engagement photos
When it comes to Engagement Photos, signage isn’t a new concept. Having the groom-to-be hold a sign that says “I asked” while the bride-to-be holds one that says “and I said YES!” is a common theme seen among celebratory photos.
This shoot is also the perfect time to take shots for your Save-the-Date announcements! Signage is ideal for this. Writing your wedding date on the soles of your shoes, holding a strand of leaves, or incorporating your children – furry or human – creates a creative and personal way to announce your big news!
get creative
Chalkboard signs are great for engagement photos because you can express whatever sentiment you’d like. You can go formal by writing Mr. and Mrs. or your wedding date, or you can have a little fun with a goofy saying like the photo above. Or, because you can easily swap your message, you can do both!
Bringing along cute props that create signage in its own way – like these scrabble pieces or a giant ampersand (&) – capture your emotion as a couple without disrupting the integrity of the photo. Ask your photographer for more ideas! They’ve been doing this a long time and have seen everything. Or, see more engagement photo inspiration here!
