Through a strike of fate, Jessica & Samir met in a hookah bar one night in 2013 even though they had been living similar lives through the same church, organizations, & even schools! Three years later they tied the knot in an incredibly glamorous & memorable way, all beautifully captured by Chris Smanto Photography. Their Proposal Story
“It was our second anniversary. Sam made reservation at XO Restaurant in Cleveland. We had talked about marriage many times before them and even joked that we acted like an old married couple, but I was not expecting a proposal. I was still in college at the time so I thought that he wanted to wait until I graduated to propose. Everything was perfect that night. The restaurant, the weather, my man, everything, except my stomach. I started to feel ill before we got to the restaurant and while I had a perfectly delicious and mouth-watering steak on my plate at XO, I could not manage to put a bite of it in my mouth. He insists that we leave the restaurant and head to his house to take care of me. He said there’s even my favorite dessert waiting there, even tiramisu could not get me to shake off my upset stomach! As soon as we enter his house, a path of red rose petals was spread from the doorway to his living room fireplace, flaming as bright as my eyes and heart at that moment. His living room was filled with floral arrangements and pictures from the two years we had been together. My upset stomach seemed to have disappeared as soon as he held my hand and stepped into the house that soon we would call our home. As I was looking at our pictures on the mantle, he called my name and the rest is our history.”
Advice From The Bride:
“Your wedding is about your marriage; it’s about the love you have for each other and the desire to spend the rest of your lives together. Don’t stress the small stuff, enjoy the wedding planning process even in the midst of mishaps, and delegate roles to each other and your wedding party so that things go more smoothly. The day after your wedding, you will look back at the whole process and wonder why you stressed out so much. At the end of the whole process, you will be married to the love of your life; isn’t that the most important part? Best of luck to all of you engaged couples!”
