Blogger to Bride: Denise & Mike’s Real Wedding
REAL WEDDING | KIRTLAND
We can’t believe a year has gone by since Denise started chronicling her wedding planning process as a Real Bride Blogger with us! In her first post, Denise shared that she’s no stranger to the wedding business. A former Social Media & Content Stylist here at Today’s Bride and now with her own business of wedding planning, we expected nothing less than pure GORGEOUSNESS for her wedding. We’re happy to say, she didn’t disappoint! Follow her journey planning this special day with our blog series, then oo and aw with us over the romantic photos captured by This Lovely Light below!
I was dead set against a First Look when we first started planning, but I’m so glad I changed my mind because that ended up being my favorite moment of the day. Funny enough, I could barely even see Mike as I walked down the aisle with our ceremony setup and everyone standing. I’m glad that wasn’t my first interaction with Mike that day.
Advice from the Bride
Build intentional moments for the two of you into your timeline. The memories that are clearest in my mind from our wedding day were primarily ones that Mike and I spent alone or with very few people around – during our private letter reading, practicing our First Dance in Mooreland’s sunroom, even desperately downing hors d’oeuvres in the Bridal Suite before joining everyone else at cocktail hour. So do a First Look, spend 10 minutes after the ceremony walking around together, have a sweetheart table – any or all of the above – whatever you need to do to spend that much-needed time together.
Advice from the Bride
I made it a point to check in with myself throughout the day and to just try to be present. Sometimes that was as simple as taking a step back from the crowd and scanning the room for a few minutes. I found this easiest to do while everyone was eating or on the dance floor. Honestly, it’s a little crazy when you stop to consider the fact that so many people from different points of your life have all come to one place to celebrate you. Let that sink in.
