How they met
“We met at work when Jen moved to Chicago for her first day of a new job. We sat across the room from each other and felt an instant connection, but we had to keep our relationship under wraps from our colleagues for months. They say never mix business with pleasure, but it turned out alright for us!”
Their Engagement story
“We had been under “lockdown” for almost a year when Nick finally was able to set up the perfect engagement. In normal times, Jen’s requirements of the engagement not taking place at home and not in a public place would be pretty straightforward but with COVID the options were pretty slim. We went skating in Millennium Park in downtown Chicago (where we live) on a Friday night and on the way home, after sneakily checking that we were alone, Nick popped the question. The only wrinkle? A year after getting Jen’s finger measured, the ring was too small. So, we put the ring back in the box and had to wait a few days for resizing before we could take those quintessential engagement pictures.”
Advice from the bride
“I know everyone tells you this… but feel empowered to do what YOU want to do for your wedding. We left out some traditional elements like a formal bridal party, bouquet toss, special dances, etc. and it made our wedding exactly what we wanted instead of feeling forced to do what we thought other people wanted. And ultimately at the end of the day, no one remembered the specifics, just that it was beautiful, and everyone had fun!”
