Calli & Josh’s Real Wedding
Calli & Josh’s Real Wedding | Youngstown, OH
Calli and Josh’s wedding, affectionately named ‘Fish Upon a Star,’ served as a remarkable testament to the influence of destiny and the beauty of discovering one’s soulmate. Despite their shared hometown and similar upbringings, it was the unexpected turn of a pandemic that brought them back together and uncovered the profound depths of their affection for each other.
DETAILS FROM THE BRIDE | “Our seating chart, displayed as a gallery wall adorned with photos from our travels and engagement shoot, offered guests a glimpse into our shared adventures and cherished memories.”
DETAILS FROM THE BRIDE | “Our talented florist masterfully intertwined our floral theme throughout the venue. Guests entered through the ‘Christmas in July’ room, an affectionate nod to our holiday engagement at the Woodstock Inn in Vermont—a location chosen by Josh due to my love for Hallmark Christmas movies. The room was transformed into a festive haven, complete with stockings for the children, toys beneath the tree, and ornaments that paid homage to our dearly departed loved ones.”
DETAILS FROM THE BRIDE | “Although we had originally planned for an outdoor ceremony, Mother Nature had other ideas. Our resourceful florist worked magic to recreate the enchantment of a garden indoors, transforming the Juniper Room with a lush profusion of wildflowers. These blooms were handpicked to evoke the beauty of the parks we frequented, ensuring that our special day would forever be associated with the wonders of nature. We added garden roses as a touching tribute to our grandmothers, all of whom held a deep affection for roses. After the heartfelt ceremony, Josh surprised me with a delightful addition—an appearance by two charming alpacas. Our mutual fondness for visiting alpaca farms during our vacations made this gesture particularly meaningful, and these gentle creatures captured the hearts of both children and adults in attendance.”
DETAILS FROM THE BRIDE | “Our wedding cake was a true masterpiece, a departure from tradition. Collaborating with Hayley from ByCenza, we envisioned a magical forest where whimsical trolls were getting married. The towering treehouse took center stage as our wedding cake, surrounded by miniature Marie Antoinette-inspired cakes for the trolls. We delighted our guests with two delectable flavors: Lavender blueberry lemon and chocolate olive oil cake with strawberry and almond frosting. Remarkably, every flower adorning the cakes was meticulously crafted from sugar!”
DETAILS FROM THE BRIDE | “The ‘Cookies and Cream’ room beckoned, featuring a beloved Youngstown Cookie Table laden with treats lovingly baked by our family and friends. An ice cream cart, stocked with flavors from our very own store, Handel’s Ice Cream South Avenue, added a sweet touch to the evening. To honor my late stepfather’s memory, a bear dressed for the occasion stood ready to “serve” up smiles.”
DETAILS FROM THE BRIDE | ” The wedding theme, ‘Fish Upon a Star,’ was a radiant tapestry woven from the threads of our shared love story, and each element reflected the profound depth of our connection, the love we share for each other, and the importance of our friends and family in our lives. It was a day of enchantment, wonder, and boundless love that we will cherish forever.”
