How They Met
If someone had told Halle that a summer job in Northeast Ohio would turn into her forever love story, she never would have believed it. But that’s exactly what happened when she met Caleb at Camp Wise in Burton.
Serving as camp counselors on the high ropes course for Shaker Heights Middle School’s Woodbury program, the two spent their summer days leading middle school students through climbing walls, zip lines, and team-building adventures. Between adrenaline-filled challenges in the treetops and hours spent encouraging campers, their friendship naturally grew into something more. What started as shared responsibilities at a Burton summer camp quickly became a genuine connection.
By the end of the summer camp season, Halle offered to drive Caleb home one afternoon, and that simple car ride marked the beginning of their relationship. Soon, their Ohio summer camp romance turned into steady dating, filled with small-town adventures, college milestones, and constant laughter. On December 30, 2019, they officially began their journey as a couple.
After finishing college and navigating a few moves together, Halle and Caleb built a life grounded in love, friendship, and shared memories. Their story, which began as two camp counselors working a high ropes course in Burton, Ohio, became the foundation for a lifelong partnership and the start of their greatest adventure yet.

Their Engagement Story
New Smyrna Beach has always held a special place in Caleb’s heart. The coastal Florida town is where he spent family vacations growing up, making it the perfect backdrop for a romantic beach proposal. So when he and Halle planned a weeklong December 2024 getaway to New Smyrna Beach, she had a feeling something meaningful might unfold.
As their plane landed in Florida, Caleb casually mentioned he had received her late Grandma Patty’s diamond, a cherished family heirloom she had always dreamed of incorporating into her engagement ring, alongside her Grandma Suzie’s diamond. After months of sending him engagement ring inspiration, Halle convinced herself the proposal couldn’t possibly be happening on this trip, making the surprise even sweeter.
On Sunday, December 15 at 4 p.m., Caleb told her he had planned something special. When they stepped onto the sandy shores of New Smyrna Beach, she saw a beautifully styled romantic beach picnic proposal waiting for her, complete with cozy blankets, glowing candles, fresh flowers, and a professional photographer ready to capture the moment.
With ocean waves crashing and a golden Florida sunset lighting the sky, Caleb got down on one knee and proposed. The heartfelt New Smyrna Beach proposal was intimate, emotional, and thoughtfully planned. After she said yes, they celebrated with sunset drinks by the water and shared the joyful engagement news with family, marking the beginning of their next chapter together.

The Wedding Style
Their garden-inspired wedding theme came to life through a romantic color palette of coral, dusty blue, and warm beige, creating a timeless summer wedding aesthetic. The outdoor wedding ceremony was held at Orchid House Winery, where lush greenery, vineyard views, and natural light provided a breathtaking backdrop for their winery wedding celebration.
Live ceremony music by Premiere Strings added an elegant and classic touch, setting the tone as Halle walked down the aisle in a truly unforgettable moment.
Halle wore a stunning Florence wedding gown by Enaura, discovered at Brides by the Falls. The intricately detailed bridal gown was beautifully tailored and styled with accessories from Macy’s, completing her refined bridal look. Her bridesmaids wore flowing chiffon gowns from Azazie in complementary hues, perfectly reflecting the garden party wedding style.
Caleb and his groomsmen embraced a classic, polished look in tailored suits from Jos. A. Bank, adding a timeless menswear element to the day.
Florals by Lowe’s Greenhouse featured soft coral blooms, romantic textures, and airy greenery that elevated the outdoor wedding décor. Halle and her family incorporated meaningful DIY wedding details throughout the ceremony and reception space, creating a personalized winery wedding that felt intimate, intentional, and deeply heartfelt from beginning to end.

The Reception at the Lotus Tent

The couple’s wedding cake from Michael Angelo’s Bakery served as both a stunning focal point and a delicious dessert centerpiece. Halle shared that the cake tasting and custom design process were highlights of wedding planning, with the bakery team bringing their vision to life in both flavor and style.
TKO Entertainment kept the dance floor packed all night, providing high-energy wedding reception entertainment and seamless coordination from initial booking through the final song. Their professionalism and adaptability ensured a smooth, stress-free celebration. Elevated details, including custom ice sculptures from Elegant Ice Creations, added a sophisticated and unique touch to the reception décor.

Advice From the Couple
If you’re planning your wedding, one of the best ways to stay inspired and organized is to create both a TikTok board and a Pinterest board. These platforms are goldmines for wedding ideas, from décor and color palettes to unique DIY projects. Don’t be afraid to roll up your sleeves and try some DIYs yourself. Whether it’s custom signage, floral arrangements, or small personal touches, adding your own creativity can make your wedding feel even more meaningful and memorable.
At the same time, remember that this day is all about you. Don’t be afraid to put your foot down when it comes to making decisions. Weddings come with a lot of questions, opinions, and sometimes unsolicited advice from family and friends, and it can definitely get overwhelming. Having a clear sense of what matters most to you and your partner can help you navigate these situations with confidence.
A helpful tip is to outline a general flow of events for your big day. This doesn’t have to be rigid, but having a roadmap of your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception can make decision-making easier. You can base choices about timing, vendors, décor, and even seating around this framework. When you keep your vision and priorities in mind, it’s easier to make choices that feel true to you rather than getting caught up in what everyone else thinks.
Planning a wedding is a big undertaking, but with the right inspiration boards, a few DIY projects, and the confidence to make your own choices, you will create a day that is not only beautiful but uniquely yours. After all, it is your love story, and your wedding should reflect that in every detail.
