Wedding Colors: Eggplant & Silver
From the Bride: “I just graduated from veterinary school with my DVM and am going to be specializing in bird medicine. As birds are such a large part of my life, and over the years I have converted my now-husband into an avid bird love, we used birds in many of the small elements around our wedding. Our wedding cake had images of some of my favorite birds on the sides of it and much of the reception decor featured birds and woodland aspects.”
“There were also several important family members who had passes away prior to our big day, and we wanted a way to incorporate their memories and spirit into our ceremony. We had a memory table with photos of those who were no longer with us, and elements from wedding of our families past. We displayed the cake topper from my grandparents’ wedding on our cake table, and I held a handkerchief from my great grandmother that she had embroidered for me specifically for my wedding day.”
Advice from Her: “Careful and thoughtful planning is the key for a beautiful wedding. The small details don’t ‘just happen.’ You need to plan for them in advance and they will ad that finishing touch to a wonderful event.”
Advice from Him: “Find something that interests you and get involved with the wedding planning process. Initially I was very hands off with the entire planning process; I would say ‘Whatever you want honey, I know it will be beautiful.’ However, after attending a meeting with the florist and seeing some of the examples for the table arrangements, I thought of a lot of ideas to make them even better. having your significant other beside you showing true interest in what you are planning makes the process much more enjoyable and fulfilling in the end.”
