Rachel & Andrew’s Significant Wedding
RACHEL & ANDREW’S SIGNIFICANT WEDDING | NEW FRANKLIN, OHIO
With less than 10 months to plan their wedding, Rachel and Andrew knew they had to make decisions quickly. Within just two weeks of their engagement, Rachel had booked their wedding photographer, videographer, florist, and found her dress. But the most important detail of all was that they would tie the knot on October 12th. Read below to learn the significance of October 12th and see the lovely shots from their special day!
OCTOBER 12: THE SIGNIFICANt Wedding Date
Rachel’s grandparents’ anniversary was October 12th; they had been married for 65 years before her grandfather passed away. Rachel wanted to get married on that same day in honor of their long-lasting love. “My grandparents had the most amazing love story,” Rachel said. “I strive to have the kind of love and strength their relationship had.”
HOW RACHEL & ANDREW MET
Rachel and Andrew met through their siblings, who went to college together. Their first date was at a Cleveland Cavs game, so they attend a game every year. Rachel said she knew she wanted to marry Andrew after just a couple of months. They continued dating for eight years before Andrew popped the question.
THEIR ENGAGEMENT STORY
Just like any soon-to-be fiancé should, Andrew thoughtfully coordinated his proposal to Rachel. From the ring, to the evening plans, to the photos, Andrew covered all the bases. Andrew picked out the perfect ring based on Rachel’s Pinterest board (Rachel had no idea he even knew what Pinterest was)! Then, with help Rachel’s sister and friend, Andrew planned an evening in downtown Cleveland on December 21. After having dinner at RED Downtown, Rachel and Andrew walked around Public Square looking at Christmas lights. “Seeing Christmas lights is one of my favorite things because I used to do this with my grandparents for years,” Rachel said. Under an archway of lights, Andrew got down on one knee and popped the question with Rachel’s sister and friend there to capture the moment. Of course she said YES!

ADVICE FROM THE BRIDE
“Make it something fun that you and your significant other can do together! Do not stress; everything happens for a reason and what’s meant to be will be. The best advice is on the day of your wedding, don’t sweat the small things you might notice weren’t right, because you’re the only one noticing them!”
Rachel said wedding planning was such a fun, enjoyable, and seamless process. She loved everything about it and never felt stressed. She didn’t want the planning and engagement time to end but was so excited to celebrate with their family and friends and get married! “If I could do it all again, I wouldn’t change a thing!” Rachel said.
October 12th turned out to be a mighty fine day to tie the knot! Do you have a significant wedding date?
NOTEWORTHY VENDORS
Natali Art Alterations: Rachel lost 40 pounds between the time she purchased her dress and her wedding. She was worried she would have to buy another dress, but Natali deconstructed her gown, took it in 4 sizes, and hand-stitched each piece of lace back into place. “It fit like it was made for me!” Rachel said.
Nikki’s Perfect Petal Designs: Rachel was pleased at how well Nikki took her vision and was able to bring it to reality. “Knowing nothing about flowers, I described the look I wanted and she really understood,” Rachel said.
