From the Bride: “One of my favorite moments was during our wedding ceremony, my grandparents (age 90 & 93) did an Italian tradition in which my grandfather held the microphone for my grandmother, who was holding a plate of items, as she explained the purpose of the items. “Candies – so your love will always be as sweet as it is today, Pennies – so you many never go broke, and Rice – so your family can expand with children :-).” Then, my grandmother throws the dish down to break to signify the end of our single lives, and the beginning of our lives together! Such a beautiful moment! My grandparents have been married for 67 years.”
Advice from Her: “Allow yourself some time alone, or with someone who calms you, before the wedding festivities begin. I did, and it was just what I needed. It allowed me to relax and take in the amazing feeling of the day!”
Advice from Him: “Everyone always asks, “Sooo… How is married life?” Truth is, it’s no different than engaged life. What happens before marriage is what happens after marriage so don’t let people freak you out.”
