Elegant Courthouse Wedding in Downtown Cleveland

There’s something undeniably magical about a wedding in downtown Cleveland, and for Abby & Joe, there was no place more fitting than the historic Old Courthouse. From its soaring arches and grand marble columns to its timeless architecture, the venue created the perfect backdrop for their classic, elegant Ohio wedding they had always envisioned. They wanted a celebration that would stand the test of time—and every detail was thoughtfully chosen to reflect that vision.

The morning started at the Hilton Cleveland Downtown with a sense of excitement and anticipation as Abby and her bridesmaids spent the morning getting ready together, sipping champagne, sharing stories, and soaking in every special moment before the celebration began. Down the hall, Joe and his groomsmen enjoyed a relaxed morning of their own, getting dressed and preparing for the day ahead surrounded by their closest friends and family. The ladies hair and makeup was done by Megan Cox Bridal and Cleveland Beauty Collective.

One of the most memorable moments of their day came during Abby and Joe’s first look. In a surprise that left Joe completely speechless, Abby arranged for their beloved dog to be part of the special moment with Doggy I Do. Seeing their furry companion unexpectedly join them made an already emotional first look even more meaningful. It was a perfect reflection of their relationship and a reminder that their wedding day was about celebrating not only their love story but also the life they had built together.

Abby’s wedding dress was a Madi Lane gown from Radiant Bride and her bridesmaids all found their own style olive green dress from Birdy Grey. Joe and his groomsmen rented black suits with olive green bowties from Rondinelli Tuxedo Company.

The architecture of the Old Courthouse provided the perfect canvas for Abby and Joe’s vision. Soaring marble columns, dramatic archways, and historic charm set the tone for a wedding that felt both luxurious and timeless.

Their color palette of black, white, gold, and olive green brought warmth and sophistication to the space. Elegant white florals and lush greenery softened the grandeur of the venue, while gold accents—from the Chiavari chairs to the candlelit tablescapes—added a touch of refined glamour. Black details grounded the design, creating a look that was traditional yet effortlessly modern.

One of the standout moments of the reception was the stunning custom monogram dance floor positioned in the center of the room. Framed by towering floral installations and surrounded by candlelight, it became the heart of the celebration and a beautiful reflection of the couple’s classic style.

While every detail of the décor was thoughtfully chosen, what made the day truly unforgettable was the team of professionals who brought the vision to life. The rentals were provided by Lasting Impressional Event Rental, flowers from So Bloom, linens from L’Nique Specialty Linen and the floor monogram from Lime Lights Entertainment.

Abby and Joe exchanged vows in a heartfelt, non-religious ceremony that felt entirely true to who they are as a couple. Officiated by one of their closest friends, the ceremony was filled with personal stories, meaningful memories, and touches that made the moment uniquely theirs.

Surrounded by family and friends, it was the perfect way to kick off the evening—an intimate and emotional celebration of the love and life they had built together.

As the ceremony came to a close, the celebration moved into an unforgettable evening inside the historic courthouse. The reception was filled with incredible food from Sausalito Catering, heartfelt toasts, and a packed dance floor from start to finish, including a suprise guest appearance from the Cleveland Brown’s mascots Chomps and Brownie the Elf.

A huge part of the night’s energy came from the couple’s incredible emcee, DJ Nick Duvé, who kept the evening flowing seamlessly and brought so much excitement to every moment. From the grand entrances to the special dances and getting guests out on the dance floor, he kept the celebration moving and made sure the party never missed a beat.

If Abby and Joe could offer one piece of advice to engaged couples, it would be to invest in experienced, reliable wedding vendors and trust them completely.

As the day came to an end, there was one investment that Abby and Joe were especially grateful they made: hiring a videographer.
