Emily and Marty’s Real Wedding | Cleveland, Ohio
Warm hues and big vows set the tone for Emily and Marty’s gorgeous late-August wedding. With a color palette full of rich maroon and burnt orange, their day felt like the perfect prelude to fall—inviting, cozy, and bursting with love. From the groom’s bold suit to the stunning floral arrangements and golden-hour portraits, every detail reflected their unique style and deep connection. Though the couple currently lives in sunny California with their two beloved dogs, Jolene and Dolly, they returned to Cleveland for an Ohio wedding filled with meaningful moments and unforgettable details captured by Shipwrecked Creative. Check out the real wedding below to see their heartfelt celebration filled with personality, laughter, and plenty of swoon-worthy moments.

How they met
Their story began on the campus of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where both were students in the Film Producing program. Marty was a senior; Emily, a freshman. After Marty’s move to Los Angeles, the two faced years of long distance while Emily finished her degree in Winston-Salem.
By 2020, Emily had joined Marty in LA. Their engagement was intimate and uniquely them: a walk around their favorite lake park in Sherman Oaks with Jolene and Dolly in tow. Though Emily was dressed for the California heat, she found Marty suspiciously well-dressed for a dog walk. Halfway around the lake, he dropped to one knee, and friends hidden nearby captured the magic.

GEtting ready
Emily began the morning surrounded by her closest friends and family as she prepared for the day ahead. She wore exquisite House of Wu style 31222 gown that was elegantly tailored with added sleeves and picked up from Bluebird Bridal. Rachel & Rose Bridal skillfully managed the final alterations, ensuring every stitch and silhouette was perfect. Her stunning smile showed brightly as the moments ticked down to the ceremony.

Photographer for Ohio wedding: Shipwrecked Creative
One of Emily and Marty’s favorite parts of the entire wedding experience was working with their photographers, Chris and Tyler, from Shipwrecked Creative. From the very beginning, they made the couple feel completely at ease in front of the camera. Their calm, friendly energy helped turn every photo session into a fun hangout rather than a formal shoot. The result: a gallery of images that not only told the story of the wedding, but also reflected the joy, personality, and love that define Emily and Marty’s relationship.
QUOTE FROM THE COUPLE: “We adored our photographers Chris and Tyler – they made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera, and we loved hanging out with them before and during the wedding weekend.”

The Bridal party
Marty, the groom, wore a maroon suit with a white shirt and bowtie from Hockerty. The groomsmen wore gray suits from Men’s Wearhouse and the bridesmaids wore various styles in shades of orange and red from David’s Bridal and Lulus.

the ceremony
The Ohio wedding ceremony was held on the charming grounds of The Glidden House in Cleveland. The emotionally resonant vows officiated by Amy F. Aurore, orchestrated in tune with Emily and Marty’s love story, marked the perfect beginning to their married life.
QUOTE FROM THE COUPLE: “Our experience working with our officiant Amy was incredibly special. The process of creating our ceremony with her was our favorite part of the planning process, and made for an absolutely beautiful ceremony.”

The wedding reception
The reception stayed on site at The Glidden House with its warm and celebratory atmosphere. Though their two dogs, Jolene and Dolly, couldn’t attend in person, they played a special part in the engagement story and appeared in welcome signage and stationery from Arzberger Stationers.
