If something happens to a musician who’s not under contract, you could end up without wedding music. •  Find out about any hidden fees or extra costs you might have. Attire guidelines •  Let your performers know the dress code beforehand so they dress ap- propriately. Timing •  Confirmarrival times. You should ex- pect them to arrive at least an hour in advance and plan on contracting them for at least four hours. Equipment •  Figure out what the equipment re- quirements are, such as power out- lets, space needed, speakers, and any equipment that you may be expected to supply. •  Ask your reception site whether the facility has any restrictions on the number of musicians and piec- es of equipment you may bring in. You should also ask about electri- cal power supply and noise limita- tions. Introductions •  Inform your DJ or bandleader be- fore the reception on how to prop- erly pronounce the names of your bridal party and their relationship to the newlyweds (Maid-of-Honor, parents of the bride, etc.).
